Cosmetic or aesthetic acupuncture is a therapy that makes the face look younger and more radiant.Another term for it is “facial enhancement therapy” which perfectly captures what cosmetic acupuncture is all about.

Cosmetic acupuncture is not a recent discovery. On the contrary, the first written accounts on cosmetic acupuncture are found in the most important text of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Huan Di Nei Jing (Han Dynasty 206 BC-220 AD). During the Ming Dynasty, a very important book, Zhen Jiu Da Cheng, was written which had a major effect on the use of acupuncture in facial rejuvenation.

Facial enhancement therapy is a collection of evidence-based actions resulting in a younger, brighter and more vibrant complexion as well as in an improvement in one’s general sense of well-being. It is for this reason that I dare even go as far as to call it a wellness therapy.

Certain points of the face, next to different points  along some of the meridians, situated mainly on the extremities , are punctured with very fine needles so as to naturally lift the face and to improve blood flow as well as collagen production.  Wrinkles will become less pronounced and the face will look fuller, all without the use of any chemicals or toxins.

Stress. Fatigue. Insomnia. Unhealthy food. Depression. All these factors have an impact on one’s appearance.  By also treating these problems with focused acupuncture , one can restore balance in the body and improve one’s general sense of well-being.

Micro needling, gua sha, acupressure, masks are additional treatments.
